Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Chronicles Of Nick #1)

 Released: May 25th, 2010
Publisher: St. Martins Griffin
Pages: 448
Rating: 3.5/5
At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends...until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.
Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.
But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he's next on the menu.
As if starting high school isn't hard Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

This book was not one of the best books ever but it was definitely a good read. I think I just had high expectations for it. While that is said, I did enjoy the book throughly, it was just Kenyon's writing style that caught me off guard; I got confused between the character switches. What I did love about this book were the demons. There were no angels, just demons, some good some bad.

I felt that the characters were too, I don't know, naive? They seemed to be willing to do everything as soon as it was said. There is so much craziness going on and our protagonist, Nick just jumps into without even thinking twice. One thing that I really like about Nick was his sarcasm, he was a funny guy. The other characters were too ill developed for my taste.

The plot in this novel is what kept me reading, it was different and unique, Kenyon did a great job on that. There were some questions that were left unanswered and left me sort of hanging but I think we'll get the answers in the second novel: Invincible.
Overall this was book was a good read, you might like t better than I did so I still recommend it.
